Christian Gurkel

Christian Gueckel, SEDCO Capital

Christian Gueckel is SEDCO Capital’s Chief Risk Officer and heads risk management and responsible investments. He joined SEDCO Capital in 2014 as Head of Research. Christian is a member of SEDCO Capital’s Investment Committee, Management Committee, Product Development Committee, Risk and Compliance Committee and Cyclical Asset Allocation Committee.

Christian has over 20 years of professional experience in portfolio management and related roles (Switzerland-based family office, Man Group, HSBC Trinkaus and Burkhardt, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (now Commerzbank), Sparkasse). Christian holds a master in finance and an MBA. He completed the CFA, FRM, CAIA, ERP and FDP degrees and holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing and the CFA Climate Investment certificate.

Lina Osman

Lina Osman, Standard Chartered Bank

Lina is the Regional Head of Sustainable Finance, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan at Standard Chartered Bank. She has over 19 years of banking experience across Sustainable Finance, Corporate Finance, and investment banking, delivering innovative deal origination and execution across various industries and regions.

In her current role, Lina has developed key relationships with clients advising them on sustainable finance solutions and instruments, and on suitable transition opportunities for their businesses. She also sits on various working groups with the objective of mobilizing capital towards green, social, and transition projects. Lina holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance (Magna Cum Laude) from the American University of Sharjah with a minor in Economics, and an MBA with distinction from London Business School. Lina was also a board member of the MENA Clean Energy Business Council (“CEBC”).

Michail Samawi

Michail Samawi, ENBD Asset Management

As Senior Executive Officer, Michail leads Emirates NBD's Asset Management business. He has over 17 years of experience in the investment management industry in the GCC and Middle East. Prior to joining Emirates NBD Asset Management, Michail was the Managing Director and KSA market leader for BNP Paribas Wealth Management, as well as a member of the BNP DIFC executive committee.

Michail’s previous roles include Head of Private Banking at Credit Suisse Saudi Arabia, where he was responsible for their execution, advisory and discretionary mandate business. Previously, he worked for more than 12 years at Jordan based Housing Bank, where he held multiple roles including Executive Manager for the Investment and Financial Advisory Department. Michail Holds a master’s degree in law and accounting from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is Chartered Financial Analyst as well as Professional Risk Manager, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and Certified Wealth Management Advisor.

Samra Al-Harty

Samra Al-Harty, Oman Investment Authority

Samra Al Harthy is the Chief Economist at Oman Investment Authority. She has 20 years of experience covering the global economy and various asset classes and global sectors. She is also a Board Member of MSX, Oman LNG, Qalhat LNG and Gulf Mercantile Exchange.

Prior to joining OIA, Al Harthy held the position of UK / Eurozone economist at Standard Chartered Bank in London, where she conducted macro and market research for the Bank’s internal and external clients. Samra holds a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics and Econometrics from Bayes Business School in London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Reading, UK.

Tim Land

Tim Land, ADGM

Tim is an experienced regulatory practitioner and leader. As Executive Director of the RA’s Monitoring and Enforcement division he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supervision and enforcement of ADGM’s commercial legislation.

Tim has over 20 years of diverse regulatory experience in Australia and the Middle East. He is a graduate of the University of Wollongong, Australia, holds a Masters degree in Applied Finance and Financial Markets from KAPLAN, Australia, and is a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of London, UK.
