About NRPF

The Nature Reporting Preparer Forum (NRPF) is a PRI-led sustainability initiative for nature, designed to accelerate market adoption of nature-related financial disclosures and contribute to the global goal of halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030.

NRPF includes six complementary interactive workshops per cohort, with content and case studies developed by PRI Nature Teams, based on original content from Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).

Funding for the Forum comes from the German Federal Ministry for Environment through their International Climate Initiative (IKI) programme. There are similar programmes being run by the UN Environmental Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) for banks and insurers, The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) for corporates and Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (SSEI) for exchanges.

We have built five cohorts, each with around 25 PRI signatories with exposure to assets in southeast Asia and Latin America, the two most critical areas for urgent action on nature. We will deliver six workshops to each cohort over the course of the programme. Workshops will be delivered in English, Spanish and Portuguese and are free to attend for qualifying signatories.

The first workshops were held in October 2025; they will be completed by June 2026.

Our purpose

By leveraging TNFD guidance, NRPF supports asset owners and investment managers to assess and act on nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities

NRPF aims to build investor capacity and foster peer-to-peer learning, particularly in emerging markets such as Latin America and Southeast Asia, while encouraging feedback to improve the TNFD framework’s relevance, integration and uptake.

Key activities and focus areas of the NRPF

  • Building capacity: the initiative fosters peer learning and knowledge sharing among market participants in order to amplify the implementation of TNFD recommendations across report preparers and report users globally.
  • Reaching emerging markets:  recognising that much of the world’s remaining biodiversity is in emerging markets, the initiative focuses on driving impactful action in these regions. This collaboration will help stakeholders understand and address nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities critical to achieving global biodiversity goals.
  • Addressing global and local risks: this collaboration emphasises the importance of localised strategies and collective action, ensuring both global and local nature-related issues are addressed effectively.
